The Weak Signal Propagation Reporter Network is a group of amateur radio operators using K1JT's MEPT_JT digital mode to probe radio frequency propagation conditions using very low power (QRP/QRPp) transmissions. The software is open source, and the data collected are available to the public through this site.

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have to inform you about the passing of my friend and yours Jürgen Olsson, DL2ZQ on the 24th November 2016 at the age of 68.
Jürgen, licensed 1966, was a real WSPR enthusiast and member of the WSPR community since the very beginning.
He held several lectures about WSPR and introduced me to WSPR 4 years ago.
Jürgen is irreplaceable. Nothing but good memories are held by everyone who ever knew him.
He will be sadly missed.

What a pleasant surprise ! 630m was very active in a low noise band:

Got my SGC-230 out of storage and repaired an inductor that had broken loose from the PC Board. Works much better than the inline tuner.

Testing 40 meters bazooka antenna with rtl_WSPR daemon in Raspberry Pi

More info in:

Thanks to Patrick, ON4CDJ for the information via Twitter.

As noted over in the WSPRNET forums, loading the map display has been
throwing up occasional errors, usually moaning about Javascript.

There is also talk that Google are trying to promote a charging
scheme for access to the map.

Just curious as to why wsprnet needs to access Google maps at all ?

Surely a generic world map jpg could be used ?

New test in salt water from my sailboat. EA3FLN /mm wspr
Ultimate 3S TXCO 30m 1x bs170 @5v + QLG1 gps
Antenna is the back stay 12m lenght , UNUN 1: 9 and Z match antenna coupling. Power is about 235 mw on 30 meters.
Hope to see your spots.

Again, yes again, seems no limit for 160m activity "across the pond": Number of Unique dx spot: 286 (new all time record). The low noise level of the band is a key factor.
In the round 42 EU stns and 24 NA stns.
Best NA rx stns: KK1D(15EU), K4RCG(10EU), N2NOM/L(9EU), K1IR(9EU), WA9WTK(EU), W8AC(8EU)

I have been playing with an arduino, gps pcb, si5351 and a tx running 1 watt from two BS170's.

Attached photo shows MEPT detail.

Works well on QRSS and now I have programed to run WSPR as well.

I will be posting a web site soon where all my design and code will be available.

Antenna is a multiband vertical and I am running WSPR on 7Mhz at the moment.

Hope to see your spots.

10 has been mouse-quiet these many past weekends. But today 10 opened up late in the day and here's what was decoded at my QTH in Philadelphia.

Bands - 80/40/30/20/15/10m
Pwr - 0,2w

Spent some time setting up an old V2 Raspberry Pi and another half an hour soldering a LPF together.

Pleasantly surprised to find four stations picking up the nominal 10mW transmission, first Tx window.

40m version to come.

I have had the WSPR software for 6 years but never tried it. Last night started transmitting and receiving WSPR using the JT-X set up I have used for same period of time. Fascinating mode! My antenna is a "T" loaded vertical with a vertical section of 40 feet and legs at the top of 88 feet each.

I'm plugging away unsuccessfully trying to get spots from my old raspberry pi but still enjoying the journey.

I think I made the mistake of jumping in at the deep end. I was trying wspr on my raspberry pi before I ever had a radio or had a good grasp on antennas.
Since the summer I have become the proud owner of an old Kenwood TS-820s which has taught me a lot. I now know how to replace the fuse in a TS-820s
and that the valves in these radios weren't designed for digimodes :-)

Number of Unique dx spot: 272 (new record). In the round 56 EU stns and 27 NA stns.

To note my new season count of my RX Challenge of NA stations heard: 47(+5)
A very magical propagation..... to be continue....
